BEN'S WORKOUT FOR THE DUBAI CHAMPIONSHIP
RI'S GENERAL WORKOUT
JANUARY WEEK TWO
The Dubai World Championship was pretty big in many eyes it was a huge honor to be running in it and Chris felt just that when he would be taking GS SuperCharged to the Dubai Championship as his last race of his season to then start his stud career. Chris had been so proud of Ben and what he had accomplished and would make his mark as a sire in the following years. Walking up the stallion Chris spotted the blazed faced stallion with a carrot and a lead rope, Ben was fortunate to only listen to Chris Stevens as the stallion approached the jockey he bowed his head slightly before raising it again in approval of his human.
Chris rubbed the horse's muzzle and smiled towards him, "Your last race of the year bud how about we put on a show for the ladies huh?" Chris said pulling the stallion out of the paddock as he pranced behind his jockey bobbing his head ready for his workout being on high demand. It had seemed GS SuperCharged would be in a field full of feisty hard worked mares his main worries were Bella Luna and Eternal Phantom both with great records and strong racers to boot. Chris would not forget about Dare to Impress, the Impressario daughter was one race away from winning the Triple Crown, Chris would not swing shy of this race. Ben was short to place in the Breeder's Cup Classic but he would not dare to throw down this race.
Saddling up the bay stallion he latched himself onto the stallion and headed out towards the sand track that the wire was so fortunate to have for such an event. Ben trotted towards the track to come to a halt and surprise motion when approached by Carlos Sanchez and The Rising. The Rising had a somewhat smaller racing career than Ben but was a undercard winner for races like the December Dirt Stakes, The Sillenia Stakes, and some many more. While the Rising didn't pull off the natural talent his sire had become he did manage to retire with a G2 status to his name. Ri knew Ben quite well and the two would workout for Ri to give Ben some high classed confidence to burst his mood for the big race.
Ben sneered at the stallion next to him and continued onto the sand track before he pranced at the new surface below his feet. The Rising did not seemed bothered by the sand on his hooves and walked forward towards the commands of his rider. His enthusiasm brushed off quite easily as the he took off like a rocket with Ben slowly gaining behind him. GS SuperCharged would be aching on the fierce Eternal Phantom to the core pushing her every buttons til he could tire her out and take the win for himself. This would be the first he would face off against Bella Luna, that mare was classy and would need careful watch if not careful. Ben took off to a nice slow pace following Rising to the backstretch keeping his strides fair and easy.
The sand track was different than the dirt and Ben was careful to run on it but was smart enough to not push himself to hard. Among the middle of the stretch Ben picked up speed to find himself matching The Rising's pace as they were identical runners. Yes The Rising was retired but he still could run like a champ and why not be a breezing partner to Ben the two were confident stallions. Both horses had been neck and neck Ben gritting his teeth against the bit in his mouth pinning his ears towards the reactions Ri had. Rising began to pick up speed Ben holding his ground waiting to make his silent move.
Pulling around the final turn Ben began to break away into a new stride picking up speed as the distance prevailed him he loved the long tracks it was his nature. "Alright boy your last race is on the horizon let's show em' boy." Chris said to Ben as he loosened his grip on the reins making his commands as Ben perceived them and took off like a bullet out of the chamber. Ben had pulled away nicely to beat The Rising by a length. Chris rose his left hand at his breezing victory and was quite chilled with the Dubai Race just around the corner.
"Hey good-luck today Chris, Ben's last race I am sure won't be forgotten." Carlos said pulling The Rising off the sand track with a small trot with Ben shaking his head from side to side before following the bay stallion and pushing towards the exit. Ben was ready this time and he would use his anger and aggression to get would he would need to win the race.
